"Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, Star"

This stereoview silkscreen is presented cross-eyed; that is, cross your eyes to superimpose the images and see it in  3-D. The image was created from a Macro Realist stereo camera. It's a picture of the popular little quarter inch sticky stars popping out of hole in the package with the cellophane removed.

"Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, Star", STP#74 TWIN
32 x 42, 06/81,Stereoview Silkscreen ST.V.SS.,
Edition of 40, $200

"McJagger Highland Slide Flinging "

We were first in line for a general admission concert. The glass doors were bending when a big, strong fellow put his arms up, the door opened and he let everyone in underneath. Meanwhile, the police were stationed on the adjoining roofs. What were they expecting? It wasn't until after the show that we heard that unfortunates without tickets stoned the place. Still don't know the real story. Was able to get some pics to paint; used some from the paper and TV.

Pink Floyd, Vancouver, '72, oil on canvas, M.Kupka

Part of the "Flesh Pink" series.
Can you imagine such a small venue as the Gardens in Vancouver? This picture also shows vestiges of "Stereoil" to come in that the heads are partly invisible, that is, seeing past and around something. When you have your hand in front of you, arm outstretched and looking at the horizon, you can see right through it. Remember the painting of Dali's where he saw TV in his thumbnail.

"Pink Floyd in Vancouver, Canada"
46 x 34, oil on canvas, 1972, $7,000

"Free Four All Seasons"

Painted in Vancouver, Canada.
We were protesting the use of land in front of Stanley Park. They wanted to put up a Four Seasons Hotel. See stories in the Georgia Straight. Squatters were camped out in the mud trying to save the land. Today there is a hotel there and the Lions Gate bridge that goes through the park is falling apart.

"Free Four All Seasons"
24 x 48, acrylic on canvas, 1972, $$5,000
Printing rights, $5000

"Figure as Skater,Karen Magnussen"

Olympic Figure Skater Karen Magnussen of North Vancouver at her birthday party. Besides my interest in figures in the spotlight like pop stars, which she was to her hometown, the crossing of lights lead up to the crossing of light in two views of a subject that was important in the creation of "Stereoils".

"Figure as Skater,Karen Magnussen"
32 x 48, oil on canvas, 1973, $4000

"Tomato Peace"

Part of the pop star series dedicated to the peace movement in Vancouver as influenced by Yoko Ono and John Lennon. A number of paintings were done with interest in album covers. Really miss those 12" covers where visuals could be had for free with the music inside. I saw a peace sign resembling the Japanese flag when a tomato was cut in half. The war for visual rights was just starting.

"Tomato Peace"
16 x 16, acrylic on board, 1972, $1000

"Go Go Moku Fish"

What's really being seen here is a bedsheet with dots on it draped over a lawn chair. Coated with glass bead, the painting shines like a traffic sign in the right light, right?

This invisible realism became part of the "Stereoil Process".

"Go Go Moku Fish", 60 x 42,unstretched
oil on canvas with glass beads, 1974, $2000

"Baby Recoups Marsballs"

The image was created from a Macro Realist stereo camera. These are regular sized marbles and a small doll's hand. As in all Stereoils the two halves of the stereoview is superimposed at a single point in space; in this case, the tip of the middle finger.

"Baby Recoups Marsballs", STP# 71 BBSS
30 x 26, 04/81 StereOil Silkscreen ST.O.SS.
Edition of 30, $100
